Meet June Bowlin, Administrator of Outreach House.

June Bowlin is the Administrator of Outreach House, in charge of everything that makes this assisted living home comfortable for our residents. Besides managing the details of day to day operations, June and her staff indeed create a homelike environment. June has been at Outreach House since 1997, first as a caregiver at the opening of the residence. In 2000 she became the Administrator, reporting to the Board of Directors. June lives in Enfield with her Siamese cat Mia. June loves outdoor activities like snowshoeing in the winter. In summer she becomes a kayaker, enjoying the Mascoma River and smaller lakes around Enfield. June enjoys her job working with residents. "It's a big family," she says. In this picture June is talking to Martha Bond, who just turned 100 years old.

 

 

Outreach House has nine private rooms.

Each resident has a private room, just as at home. Most rooms have private baths. Some rooms overlook the Dartmouth campus. There is an elevator and stairway to the second floor rooms. Generally residents provide their own furniture, having it moved from their previous home. Outreach House takes charge of placing the furniture as desired.

Fresh bed linens and towels are provided weekly. The Outreach Staff helps with making beds and cleaning the room. A common dining room and living room provide a social setting that our residents enjoy.

 

 

 

 

 

Ann James volunteers to drive residents on errands Thursday mornings.

Many people contribute to Outreach House in many ways. Ann James volunteers her time and her automobile to take elderly residents on short automobile trips around the Upper Valley. She helps them with errands at the bank or post office. Sometimes residents enjoy going to L.L. Bean, Penny's, or BJ's in West Lebanon to buy personal necessities. Others like to drive by familiar homes along the River Road in Hanover, or in Norwich or East Thetford. Ann finds that a regular schedule works best for her, and the residents can look forward to Thursday mornings.
